It's impressive on many levels, especially considering Zaila joined the world of competitive spelling only two years ago, per the New York Times. The most basketballs dribbled simultaneously - one person is 6, and was achieved by Joseph Odhiambo (USA) in Mesa, Arizona, USA, on 15 August 2000. On Thursday night, 14-year-old Zaila Avant-garde made history as the first Black American to win the Scripps National Spelling Bee in the contest's nearly hundred-year history.
